What does it mean to practice pause?
How often do you pause? One of my favorite yoga teachers reminded me about the power of taking a pause. Such a simple concept one might presume; however, how often do I truly pause? It made me stop and honestly reflect on what a pause needs to look like in my life and what can I gain and evolve from them.
I have chosen to venture into a seasonal job of tax preparation. It’s the opposite end of the spectrum that I adore with yoga, meditation, and connection with nature. I have chosen to challenge my mental and cognitive skills and with this, I need to practice the pause. I refuse to let this new endeavor cause me undue stress.
I am grateful to be reminded of the power of the pause. I must remain committed to the power of my pause that I find through yoga, meditation, reading, feeding my soul with homemade food, and connection with those I love! Do you pause enough in life?
The pause can play out in many ways. Maybe, the pause is physically stopping and doing nothing or perhaps taking a slow deep breath with a slower exhale. What does a pause need to look like in your day, week, and life? Make time to sort out your best pause. I know with a practice of pause, I’m ready for whatever life decides to send my way.
I, like YOU, am strong and deserve the privilege of pause. When I practice pausing, it offers me the time to recalibrate, rebalance, and reconnect with myself and what’s most important to me in my life. I’m worthy of a pause and so are YOU! With each pause, embrace self-love!
