Choosing your “hard” needs to align with your core values and personal goals. It takes focused time and mindfulness to fully realize what you need your “hard” to be. Here are a few suggestions that might help you in choosing your “hard”:
- PURPOSE: What will change or staying the same result in and bring you in your life? Will the “hard” you choose help you grow, learn or move toward something meaningful?
- VALUES: As you think about what you desire in life, align your “hard” choice with your core values. For example, fear is hard just as bravery is hard. If doing something bravely means living authentically, then facing the fear you might have in doing whatever needs done might feel scary as a “hard” choice but one that honors your true self.
- GOALS: Which “hard” path will lead to a better and more meaningful personal outcome? Sometimes staying the same is comfortable but the discomfort that comes with change might bring greater rewards down the road.
- WELL-BEING: Reflect on which hard contributes to your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health. Do your best to avoid burnout while challenging yourself to grow in ways that nurture your well-being and balance in life.
When you are choosing your “hard”, consider which path you are more willing to live with and which brings you closer to your best version of YOU? What would resonate with you more—-growth through bravery or comfort in stability? YOU are the best creator of your life! Choose your “hard” bravely!
