I often think about the “luck of the Irish” this time of the year. Are the Irish really luckier in life? I doubt it. Being healthy in life is not by luck. I have learned I must take the right action in my life to strive for health–health of mind, body and soul. What does this mean? Being healthy does not happen by osmosis. It takes personal effort, commitment, scheduled time and dedication. Time to move and exercise! Time to cook a homemade meal–clean eating! Time to sleep–body and mind recovery! Time for family and friends–positive connection! Living in the present moment as you make time for you and your health is not by luck. Envision your best healthy self!
Move forward in the month of March with renewed, stronger focus and determination to feel your best and strive for your best health. Irish or not, luck does not get us best health. When you want to roll over and turn off your early a.m. alarm and sleep through class, put your feet on the floor and get to your movement without hesitation. Make time to shop for real, fresh food and cook at home. Try your best to get seven to eight hours of sleep nightly. Surround yourself with positive people who see life “glass half full” not “glass half empty.” Disconnect electronically whenever possible, leave the past in the past, future in the future, and enjoy the present moment.
Do not let anyone or anything get in your way of feeling your best healthy self—having luck and winning the lottery won’t even do it! Being healthy is not by luck rather by YOU TAKING CARE OF YOU!!
Health & happiness,
